Our founder

With a background deeply rooted in events and experience marketing, Amal's entrepreneurial journey began in 2014 when she founded By Whyte, an Amsterdam-based event and marketing company. In that same year she also founded the train-based hackathon 'Hackatrain', fueling her passion for innovation.

HACKATRAIN

About
From 2014 to 2020, we redefined the hackathon experience by taking it on a thrilling journey across Europe—aboard a train! Our one-of-a-kind event brought together over 300 passionate young tech talents alongside 50+ pioneering brands. Among our esteemed partners were industry giants such as Vodafone, KPN, TNO, BMW Group, ING, ProRail, NS, CBS, Deutsche Bahn, Picnic, Parkmobile, and many more.

Our work
Our journey with Hackatrain began in 2014 with a simple idea: a hackathon on wheels. By the summer of 2015, we brought this concept to life at Tech Open Air Berlin, injecting fresh energy into Europe's tech scene. Since then, Hackatrain has evolved into a vibrant community fostering creativity, idea exchange, and mutual learning.

HIVOS 50 YEARS

About
We were approached to craft a memorable event in honor of 50 years of Hivos' impactful journey.

Our work
We organized an unforgettable day full of surprises and delight, bringing together 350 staff members and donors who were central to Hivos’ success. For one day, the Fokker Terminal in The Hague was transformed into an exhibition space. Together with the communication agency Sazza, we created an immersive exhibition that portrayed 50 years of Hivos through the lens of 'a journey through time,' vividly bringing key moments to life.

PUBLIC PROSECUTION SERVICE

About
The Public Prosecution Service is a national organization divided into ten regions. The organization's office (arrondisementsparket) in a given region is located at the district court (rechtbank) serving that region. Each office of this kind is headed by a Chief Prosecutor.

Our work
We provided the overall creative vision while managing the end-to-end production of a symposium focused on technology and innovation within jurisdiction. The event featured interesting speakers and 15 inspiring workshops that allowed employees and stakeholders to share knowledge, experiences, and practices.

YUMMYA FOOD FESTIVAL

About
Yumma is a festival dedicated to street food, distinguishing itself from others by incorporating a unique theme into the festivities. The 4-day event showcases tastings from the finest food trucks in the Dutch capital, Amsterdam, offering attendees a high-quality culinary experience.

Our work
Our journey commenced with a directive to curate an innovative street food experience within an unconventional setting: the Jaap Eden ice rink. From brainstorming creative concepts to coordinating with suppliers and stakeholders, we ensured a seamless process, leaving no stone unturned to meet all requirements flawlessly. With hands-on support, we brought our vision to life, inspired by 'guilty pleasures' from 'Adam & Eve'. Designing four themed realms - Adam's Apple, Eve's Kiss, Eden, and Forbidden Fruits - we celebrated indulgent cuisine, resulting in an immersive journey that captured widespread media attention.

EMERCE

About
TravConnect is a networking club for Innovation Managers, Entrepreneurs, and Board Members in the travel industry. It is part of Emerce, a multichannel platform providing decision-makers with knowledge and inspiration in e-business and marketing.

Our work
We were tasked with organizing E-Future, an exclusive sponsored event in collaboration with the insurance company Unigarant. Our responsibilities included managing the entire production process and implementing a campaign to attract visitors. Approximately 100 people attended the event.

SCIENCE PARK JÖNKÖPING

About
Science Park Jönköping is a Swedish incubator for knowledge-intensive companies and dynamic business innovators seeking to explore new business opportunities. They are actively committed to helping companies find the right business model, team, opportunities for international expansion, capital for growth, and providing legal advice.

Our work
Connecting the Jönköping team with the Amsterdam startup ecosystem. The goal: to find out what Amsterdam did to make our capital so successful with startups, and to learn from founders, investors, accelerators, co-working spaces, and corporate companies.
We met with accelerators such as Rockstart and Startup Bootcamp, and with startups like Hotelchamp and Yippie. We visited inspiring co-working spaces such as B.Amsterdam. We cycled around to get a real feeling of Amsterdam. We sailed along the canals with Barqo, the Airbnb for boats, and hosted 7 themed round tables with experts working for giants like KLM or KPN Ventures.

THE.NEXTGEN

About
The.NextGen is a company specialized in IT secondment. They help professionals in software development, infrastructure, and data find their dream jobs. Great value is attached to knowledge sharing, collaboration, and building genuine connections to further strengthen the bonds within their tech community.

Our work
Research among IT professionals revealed that 65% find job-related content dull, despite their keen interest in data, cloud, and architecture. Motivated by this insight, The.NextGen opted for a fresh approach, culminating in the creation of an innovative IT festival. We handled concept development, program management, and production, drawing over 200 members of their tech community to the event.
